What does a Keto Diet look like?

People who are living a Ketogenic Lifestyle get most of their calories from fat, eating very low amounts carbohydrates and a moderate amounts of  protein.

Contrary to popular belief... a Keto diet is not an all meat diet. It's a high fat diet.

Most people grew up believing that fats were bad. They believed if you ate fats you would get fat and have high cholesterol.  This information is not correct.

FAT IS GOOD!

  • Every cell membrane in our body needs fat to function properly

  • Our brains are 60% fat

  • Almost every hormone comes from fat

  • Vitamins A, D, K, and E are fat soluble and require fat to be absorbed

  • Our nerves are insulated with fat

  • Fat is extremely satiating which means we eat less food and snack less

So what will I eat?

A typical day might look like this:

Breakfast:  Bacon, eggs, cheese and avocado

Lunch:  Cobb salad with blue cheese dressing

Dinner:  Steak with a dollop of garlic butter and broccoli on the side.

Not a bad day if you ask me!
