What exactly is Ketosis?

Ketosis is a normal metabolic state where you use your body's FAT for fuel instead of using carbohydrates.

Because carbohydrates (carbs) were not always available a long time ago, our bodies were designed to switch over to Ketosis (using ketones produced by the liver) to keep us working and alive.

When someone is in Ketosis, their bodies are using Ketones for fuel.  Ketones burn longer and steadier throughout the day and provide more energy than carbs.  When your body relies on carbs for fuel, you experience quick bursts of short-lived energy which creates a need to constantly eat (refuel).
